Golden Light & Family Laughter: A Sunset Session at Cobbler Creek

There’s something pretty special about photographing a family when they’re simply enjoying being together, and this sunset session at Cobbler Creek was exactly that.

We wandered through the long grass as it moved in the wind, chasing the light as the sun started to dip, and there wasn't a single posed moment that felt forced. Just the three of them being exactly who they are together.

There was plenty of teasing, plenty of giggles and those wonderfully unplanned moments that happen when a family is completely comfortable with one another. The the warm evening light created the most beautiful backdrop, with that gorgeous golden glow making everything feel a little bit magical.

They had been wanting updated family photographs that captured who they are together at this stage of their lives, and I think we managed to do exactly that.

Rather than simply creating photographs of three people standing and smiling at the camera, we captured their personalities, their connection and all the fun that makes their family theirs.

These are the photographs that I feel become more meaningful with time - tangible memories of this particular chapter, when the kids were teenagers, Mum was surrounded by her favourite people, and they could spend an evening together laughing their way through the long grass at Cobbler Creek.
