A Cool Day, Warm Moments: Welcoming This WA Family

Having this family ask me to photograph them during their visit from Western Australia was such a joy - even if Adelaide’s cooler weather caught them off guard.

Their boys, eight and four, arrived bundled in layers, cheeks pink from the chill, holding that sweet mix of hesitation and excitement kids have when everything feels new.

We began at the little park just a few minutes from my Paralowie studio, where the trees offered just enough shelter from the breeze.

The boys explored at their own pace - the eldest thoughtful and steady, the youngest full of energy that warmed all of us more than the sun did.

Inside the studio, you could almost feel the warmth settle back into them. Jackets off, shoulders relaxed, and that familiar closeness resurfaced - the kind that only shows when a family feels completely safe together.

The boys leaned into their parents with easy affection, playful one moment and tender the next.

This preview only scratches the surface of their story, but you can already see the strength of their bond - a family carrying home with them, no matter how far they travel.
